In last 6 months from Birbhum to Nabadiganta Leprosy colony near Durgapur, from Nadia to Sundarbans UF team is supporting several projects on environmental conservation, literacy, skill building initiatives for women, Child Abuse prevention & Mental Health awareness.

Mr. Kartick Kalindi, our Braveheart Umeed supports his project at Nabadiganto Leprosy colony near Durgapur (WB) of mushroom cultivation that is providing sustained livelihood with dignity to leprosy infected.

Mr. Soumitra Mandal from Sundarbans was applauded for his efforts to educate children in remotest part providing sanitation and health education.

The shelter homes for street children who have Umeed enabled Learning Resource Centres, were honored for their selfless service and now children can have access to dictionary, atlas, story book, newspapers, globe, charts, maps etc.

UF is thrilled to have operational 9 Learning Resource Centre in WB. We are particularly proud of the Learning resource room at the community center of Sreeja India, Birbhum district (WB) & the one at Sanlaap - "Sneha Home" in Narendrapur, South 24 Parganas. Dedicated to supporting trafficked children, Sanlaap operates Sneha Home under the JJ Act. Despite various legal restrictions & policies we opened a center there.

There were 21 scholarships awarded to meritorious students, among them were Aspiring Engineers, footballer, aspiring nurse , NCC cadet & a pilot. We wish their dreams come true & they become a role model to the community!
