Child Empowerment and Abuse Prevention

An initiative by Ummeed in collaboration with Anahat

Umeed Foundation’s strategy emphasizes on working on the issue holistically by involving both caregivers and children and help them create a safe environment for children, provides children a safe space for disclosure of sexual abuse/ sexual misbehaviour, and, works to heal all children who have been affected. This project aims to reach out to 50,000 girl students of Government schools all over WB and build partners for thiscause. It provides girls of age 8 to 12 years with the required knowledge and skills to prevent Sexual Abuse and to seek support if an incident occurs. The goal of the proposed project is to spread knowledge regarding child safety and protection from sexual abuse and menstrual health management .
We continue to work with Bani Tirtha and Vivekananda Girls High School ,Barisha Ashar Vidyapith, Joka Bratachari Girls’ High School, Jagatpur Rukmini Vidyamandir for Girls, Kishore Bharati Girls High School.
